Just struck me.

Does anyone think that might have been the last ever show?

They didn't say they would be back in the autumn.

Possible.

Clarkson will be forced to take a big pay cut by the BBC if he stays.

He'll go to SKY or some other independent where he will be paid market rate and not forced to declare his salary as part of this new McCarthyism, where doing well for yourself makes you a target.

He said they would be back in November. Remember the Schumacher bit.

I'm sure somewhere in the show they mentioned that the Stig had no other cars to test until November so I guess that was a good indicator.

Sad sad day for the BBC if they lose TopGear.

If it was the last show ever, what an utterly st way to end it! The car advert thing went on for far too long, very boring!

Top Gear website says they have a few months off before they start again so thats a pretty good indicator they will be back.

The only reason that they will is if this ridiculous campaign by people disappointed that their own lives turned out poorly to force the successful to publish their salaries succeeds.

Why should Clarkson be forced to tell us what he earns? It's no one's business.

Might not be finishing top gear full stop but it might be returning with new presenters or a new format.

Anyone else feel quite a bad vibe between the presenters on last nights show? A few petty little digs at each other that could have just been jokes but appeared to hit a nerve. Especially Clarksons jab at Hammond in the news about being an irritating arse.

Fair enough, just sitting here thinking about the emotive ending and of course the music. Jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Agreed, far too long far to predictable and not very entertaining.

I was almost pulling my hair out when they had the V12 vantage on and did one of the worst, uninformative tests i have ever seen. Clarkson barley talked about the car, just started going on about how it made him sad. They didnt even put it round the track for fks sake!

Was nice to see/here it going along those roads, but very disappointing none the less.

I was bored watching this top gear, and before people start saying "well turn it off then", i realise i could not watch it, but i watch each week in the hope it will be a good show and every week i am slightly more disappointed. please please please top gear/BBC bring back at least an element of a car show to what not so long ago was a great show.

This has been the worst series ever.

Boring races, awful scripted chat and dead beat presenters who are too much up their own a***s.

Yes it will be back but with new focus, new faces and new format.

And a good thing too.

great way to end the show I thought - the fact that Jeremy didn't speak basically said it all - that this is one special car and it could do it's own talking....

For the first time in a long time I watched the SIARPC section. Jay Lenno's story of the coppers was a good one.

hehe I think its saying something when the star in the reasonably priced car was one of the best bits of the show! Jay Lenno is a bit of a leg.

And where did you get that nugget of information from? It's certainly not from fact

I would be more concerned over they way they said it was the end of cars! rather than top gear itself..Seemed to have a downer on it, but would agree cant drive anywhere anymore.

Replace Hammond. He's not been the same since the crash and is just annoying now.
Also, remove the script (Aka, let May be himself and not some boring stereotype) and put the presenters in a situation that will evoke natural comedy.

I absolutely agree, why should we know. Though I'm sure you could get a reasonable idea from Companies House, assuming that JC works through a limited company. That though is not actively published information.

If they are chopping and changing presenters I hope they keep James May, he seems to genuinely be interested in cars, Hammond and Clarkson only seem to want to cock around.
