I need to collect a Caterham chassis from down South. I'm hoping to set this up for Sunday but I need to borrow a trailer (or hire one). It only needs to be a small trailer as we're talking about just the chassis, nothing else.

I live in Redditch. I could store the trailer in my garage if collection/return same day on Sunday was not useful/convenient, but I've only got a standard single garage.

Thanks.

Are we talking car trailer or good size standard trailor - may be able to help for a few pennies towards sponsorship?

I guess I need something like a car trailor. The chassis is about 3 metres in length, although only a metre-ish in width. I'd happily borrow anything that would take that.

Mars,

Hopefully sniff has sorted this for you as the trailor I was purchasing is not suitable.

Thanks to you both for your offers. I believed I have something sorted although some doubt was cast on that this morning. I have a bloke looking into possibilities for me though so I remain hopeful.

Many thanks again.

I've looked at some of these. I believe the chassis I'm collecting is a little over 3 metres. None of the ones I've found for hire locally seemed to have a load bay that long, so I started looking at trailers.

Thanks.

Echo what pikeyboy said.

LWB Merc sprinters will have a load length of at least 3.1m, and at least 1.2m between the wheel arches (depending on the ply-lining)

Most major hire companies will also do extra LWB versions (Iveco and Merc do ones that will take a 4m length load)

We use TLS in Nottingham regularly for Vehicle hire, and they always have LWB and ELWB vans available at the drop of a hat. (They are nationwide too, so shouldn't be a problem sorting you out in Redditch)

As a regular hirer, we get preferential rates (under £30/day for a ELWB!), but even as a once-only hirer, I don't think it would cost you too much.

Better in a van too, as you would not have the same road restrictions as you would towing a trailer......
