Hi everyone,

Posted this in Jap Chat on sunday, and got no response, so I'm wondering if anyone in here can help...

My brother and I went to have a look at a 1991 Toyota Hilux 2.4 Diesel (N/A), and the shell/chassis was absolutely mint, the only problem was that there was a slight leak from the front injector (definitely diesel).

It runs fine, just leaks a bit of fuel - I've had a good look round the web and couldn't find any more information - I'm guessing it's just a seal, but was hoping someone on here might be able to tell me if this is a problem and what the likely solution is - we're pretty good with the spanners, but not expert level smile

Cheers,

Fatboy

you'll probably find the union on the fuel pipe is worn or one of the spill pipes is split easy fix or if it is the seal take the injector out and you should find a cooper sealing washer at the bottom, you'll probably have to get the parts from toyota, if you find its the injector its self leaking they are just a straight swap on this year and i'm sure they don't have to be programmed in, there are companys around that also recon diesel injectors.

Top advice, they are mechanical units so no programming etc, look after that lump and don't let it overheat and that motor will run forever wink

Try asking on the Surf / Hilux owners club forums - they were very helpful when I needed to rebuild the 2.4 engine on my Surf.
