As per title really, I've previously bought from Furniture village and DFS and both alhough looking nice have (IMO) been overpriced and don't stand up to the test if time.

I don't mind shelling out a bit more this time round for something with a decent frame and comfy cushions, but where can I find such a sofa?

I'm a 2 seater and 2 single seaters in dark red if anyone knows if anything going either.

Had loads of stuff of these guys in the past. Nice people to deal with and great products.

They sell a lot of Vintage Tanning and Halo stuff.

Multi York. We've bought a couple and an arm chair from there in the last year or so and they are great. Not cheap but not stupidly expensive, made to last and you can get new covers for them when they wear out in the dim and distant future or if you need a change. Lots of choice of style and fabrics, we have two sofas in the same style, one in leather and the other in fabric, then a year later bought a chair in the fabric style and a footstool in the leather.

They have two sales a year, one around now and the other after Christmas, wait until then (or move quickly) to get money off or free covers depending on what the offer is at the time.

Another vote here for Multi York. The quality of their stuff is very good and far superior to DFS crap

I purchased a very nice sofa at an antique shop. Much better quality than most on sale today, cheaper, with a sense of history.

I don't know whereabouts in Kent you are but Google:

Nasons of Canterbury

Wells Interiors in Rye

William Hill Interiors in East Grinstead

Ashbury Furniture in Ashford

All of them stock some good stuff.

Will second Natuzzi as a decent brand. Ours is very nice. They have a large showroom at Lakeside.

Another one for sofa.com. You can also speak to the owners and get some elements made to measure or change the composition of the cushions etc. Very reasonable and highly professional.

They've got some nice ones in M&S...

That's where ours came from. Similar prices to John Lewis...

And another vote.

They have 6 different fillings for cushions so you can choose between v. firm to v. soft in the same style. Our first purchase was over 15 years ago and recently swapped the the feather cushions for foam, still on the original covers.

Thirded - We have a Natuzzi corner sofa and swivel armchair - they also have a fantastic selection of not not only styles but also leather colours and grades (from thin to very thick hide).

I was in Dwell t'other day and they had some nice sofa's. I can't vouch for the longevity, but the leather was very, very soft and felt lovely.

We can do you a made to order / made to size / made for you with a choice of fillings / leather / fabric / feet colour etc etc.
The JL / M&S stuff is just slightly better than sofa sofa / and most is imported and sized to fit in a shipping container rather than a human.
It depends on budget. Ours will be made for you by Terry and his machinist up north and you won't beet it.
PM me if you want more details.

If their longevity is anything like their cupboards, rugs or chairs then you will need to budget for replacement within a couple of years.
I like their designs but everything I have got from there has been of iffy quality and/or build.

If you want out and out quality - with a 30 years warranty on the frame then we do sofas. You can have anything you want, with either your own fabric or choose one of ours. My website hasn't been launched yet, but if you have a look at the flash image on the front page there are a couple of sofa pictures. That should give you an idea of what we do. www.jaynereese.com
