Car Trolley Jack?

So looking to get a trolley jack but ive also read i think on hear its best not to keep the car jacked in one place and its best to get axle stands? Is this true?

Anyways looking for any recommendations as i never thought there would be so many different types

They were selling off all their motor vehicle stuff. All good quality.

Yes axle stands are better, they never slowly lower you car to the floor and are not on wheels.

Based on peoples recommendations on here. Thankfully I haven't needed to use it yet (touchwood/fingers crossed etc!) so I can't comment on how good or otherwise is but others on here seemed impressed by it and the case makes it handy for storage!

I wouldn't leave the car jacked up on the trolley jack and certainly wouldn't get under it without axel stands in place. Whenever I've used a trolley jack in the past I've always used axel stands and always try and jack up both sides so 2 wheels are off the ground and the car sits level rather than with one side/corner jacked up

This one fit under a tuscan? Dont need low front one? Like the price on that little kit... Can you get a rubber top for the jack as to not damage the chassis?

I've got that screwfix kit. Doesn't fit under the car unless you drive onto a ramp of some sort. I bought some 'ramps' that are supposed to be used to help level caravans on hills. Roll the car onto them and it gives just enough clearance. TBH I wish I'd just bought a low access one.

I picked up a 3 tonne one from Costco for about £50. I'm sure there was a 2 tonne model as well, for a cheaper price.

Ah OK well that's a surprise as I thought I read on here that it's low enough to fit. Hmmm I might have to send it back seeing as I haven't used it yet

Yep fits fine under mine whytwo.

My car has got Gaz golds and has been set up correctly so certainly doesn't have a high ride height.

Ive used it loads of times, everytime I put the nice bubblegum smelling wax stuff on the inside of my Alloys

Edit to say although I do go in at a slight angle in between the gap in the wheel arch and wheel, but anyone sensible would try that surely....

A rubber Kit? bleedin hell, whatever happened to "man the hunter and gatherer", "fire starter" and "the resourceful one of the sexes"..... buy a thin strip and superglue the thing on if need be!

BDM- I use a section of old bike inner tube glued to my stands.

Mossy- Yeah it goes under now but only reaches the last few inches of the outrigger. Can't quite get it far enough under to reach the brace section. Do you just put yours on the outrigger?

As for the Clarke / Machine Mart low entry aluminium jobbies. I have got one of those for sale, was going on PH tonight or tomorrow, used once and it worked fine. It is in excellent condition and is perfect for the car as it is low enough.

£45 plus pp and she's yours.

Ive got one of these for the Chim, and have been really impressed with it. A low level one is a must as a lot of the other ones i saw simply wouldnt slide under the car.
