I've had a smg for a few months but the gear indicator has started to play up, instead of being on all the time it flashes on and off when in gear and if I do not keep my foot on the break when at stand still it goes into neutreal ( the gear indicator stays on),this happens when in auto or using the paddles, other wise the car performs well with no problems changeing up or down and the performance is well as you all know magic.

Moseley Motorsport, Telford? If Nigel can't fix it he'll probably know someone locally who can. 01952 503992

I had this problem - hadn't closed the bonnet properly. I understand that the switches in the bonnet catches don't always close properly, telling the SMG ecu that the bonnet is open. Might be worth moving them around a bit.

Thanks for the replys, the car went into nuetral and would not move so had to call the man out and yes the switch under the bonnet had fallen off, it seems the previous owner had moved the alarm switch to the front of the bonnet and it was that we were testing, oh the engineer said the doors can have the same effect if the switch on them is not working correctly.
once again thanks.

I Know Autotech Performance in Telford have all the gear for the M cars and set up to do all programming, coding and software updates on smg boxes, mine was doing the same, it was a fault with the software in the control module and didnt cost a lot to sort, I was well chuffed.
