Is it good? I can't quite make up my mind. It's not as funny as the princess bride (with a few simularities whcih seem to be almost directly copied), slightly too much of a child's film perhaps with a somewhat predictable ending. Yet I still enjoyed it.....

I really enjoyed it, nice bit of escapism for a change. Agreed not as good as Princess Bride.

I had to be dragged mumping an moaning all the way to the cinema by my wife but came out smiling and feeling good which I wasn't expecting. I'm sure the cast had a lot to do with it as there were some fine performances and plenty of chemistry between the lead actors.

I loved it, bought it on DVD too. A proper feel-good movie, very funny too. Except Gervais.

But it's not quite as good as "That'll Be the Day".

Did you know that the soundtrack for the old 1975 "Stardust" was produced by none other than Jeff Wayne - who three years later produced the album "War of the Worlds"?

Well, the chances of that must be a million to one.........

I still have the sodding take that song in my head today. I just can't help but think the Princess Bride is better, but this was still a fine film, with some very amusing parts. The dead brothers waiting at the "Slain Prince" (possibly slaughtered prince) Pub was also a nice touch.
