That would be the Star Wars version, the guys that do loads of charity work dressed as stormtrooper's etc. Or failing that does anyone on here have decent Stormtrooper armour or know where it can be hired from?

mk garrison - have own website www.mkgarrison.co.uk - mick is great guy and may be able to help you
or dorset troopers might be able to help you - they are affiliated to MK group
but not many will lend kit out due to cost of original equipment

There's something rather incronguous about the word "Dorset" when used in conjunction with Storm Troopers biggrin

Reminds me of some standup (Bill Bailey maybe?) taking the piss out of David Prowse's West Country accent "You arrr parrrt o' the rebel alloiance, an' a trayyyor".

ETA - well, the proves you can't phonetically type West Country biggrin

Thanks Rogue_420, I'd be willing to negotiate some kind of deposit or something as I'm fully aware of the expense (in time as well as money) that goes in to this kit. I'll check the website when I get home later and see what can be done. You can buy a real noddy sset of foam armour os something for about £50, but as I've always wanted to go to a party as a Stormtrooper and the up coming party is Sci-Fi themed I'd like to do it properly.
There were a couple of Stormtroopers at fairford airshow and their kit was amazing, right down to a decent voice box unit.bow
Again, thanks for the pointer.beer

I'm 5'8" of reasonably slim build (a bit of middle age spread, just round the belly area, not thighs or anywhere else......yet!).

That price is the problem, 'tis a bit excessive for one evening!

I'll live near the Portsmouth, by the way. I won't be sitting down in it at all, as in general the parties I go to at this mates house are fairly full and invariably we are all stood up all evening.

Thanks bigTree, but even at cost price I think it would be too expensive for one evening, do you hire such stuff though?

It's a Stormtrooper (or variant of) I'd prefer to go as.

No pony tail, slightly less facial hair and a slightly smaller belly, but yeah, pretty accurate! laugh
