What have people used to secure there hard top to the top of the windscreen. I thought about using the competition bonnet stays but I'm not sure whether they would work.
So please post any thoughts,
Thanks
Bob

Hi
The idea we had for the hard top on that Geep if we had kept it with it having the fasteners on the rear part was the following.
Attach a piece of angle aluminium to the roof side of the roof flange.
Another piece of angle aluminium to the screen side of the windscreen frame.
We had planned on using fibreglass resin plus countersunk headed bolts and nuts (the countersunk heads being on the two fibreglass mating surfaces)
Then as would be needed anyway to make a good seal use a neoprene strip glued to one of the mating flanges. This will also allow the heads of the countersunk bolts to be slightly proud without stopping the joint working.
Then to fix the two parts together (hence the reason for using angle) use three or four small over centre catches (depending which way the fasteners fit best will decided which half goes where.
The fact you have got a piece of angle on the windscreen frame will also allow easy fitment of sunvisors.

Hope this is of help.
