Would any body be interested in buying a set of electric cutouts? I have emailed DMH performance who would be willing to do a discount if we get enough people. I haven't agreed a price but i will email them to find out.

Heres a link to their site

suppose anyone like the fish could do it, just needs intergrating into the exhaust somewhere.

There is no room to do it properly on an 04 car, ie like the 05 car wortec system. Simply not room for the clever silencers (its been tried). Best you can hope to achieve is to have the cutout dumping straight outside the exhaust, personallly, not something i would do. Technically (legally?) as well, the exhaust should reach the back of the car.

If your happy with that, then it is just a fabrication excercise. To be honest, an exhaust fabrication place would probably be more cost effective than us, as they will be significantly quicker at it.

I have them on mine, you can programe them for different settings, loads of room on the r8, oval cut outs just after the rear sensor..........easy to fit if you can borrow a ramp and can weld.............

Cost me 400 smackers for a pair of oval units(don't take up so much room) complete with heat shields from nemesis uk including electric control unit...............I've had no problems with them, as in all things use responsibly................

Strictly speaking.

Any deviation from the OE standard, or any mods to make it louder, are deemed illegal. In some respects its a little vague, in others not vague at all. Just depends what cop you get.
And if you look around the country now. The police are going nuts with sound meters testing cars and threatening to steal them from their owners if they think they are causing a "noise nuisance". In fact..many are getting stopped and ticketed, not having disturbed anyone at all. Just the cops are on the rampage in some areas. Half of them are issuing "advice" and statements that just make themselves look like idiots proving they have no clue what they are talking about.

One newspaper report quoted a cop saying that a car tested at 80db would be twice as loud as one at 70db...and therefore a potential nuisance.
Except a car at 80db would be almost fking silent ! lol and one at 70db pretty much would be silent lol

Despite the fact there are no guidelines in law for sound levels, or how they should be tested.

Just more of the governments anti-car attitude.

And again, MOT dictates all exhausts fitted to a car must contain at least one silencer ( regardless of whether its noisy or quiet )
And as Roger suggested, I'm pretty sure there are legal issues if the exhaust doesnt exit at the rear of the vehicle. It was one of the reasons when the Viper appeared in the UK, it had rear exit exhausts instead of the US models side exit.

Besides, I think most of the cars with open headers/no exhaust sound crap. Unless its making a couple of thousand HP or more. Then I can see why lol.

If anyone is interested I may have a set of QTPs' coming up for sale in the near future. I'm having some engine mods done and I'm looking to change my set up. They're currently set into a set of cat delete pipes for an '04 monaro so perfect for anyone with long tube headers. Saying that they could be adapted to be used on any vehicle at pretty much any position on the system.

Hi Guys,

I've installed a set of cut-outs 2 years ago in my GTO 2006; still working as new. Perfect fit and sound. Had mine from BadlanzHPE in stainless steel
( www.badlanzhpe.com )
Look at http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread for more pictures and costs incl. shipping.

Regards, and have fun and keep that smile when driving your beautifull Holden,

Peter from the Netherlands
