Cracking day yesterday..

After doing all my track time on bikes, yesterday was the first on 4 wheels. (About Time!!)

The poor ol BMW (played it safe using the ol' banger) got the proverbials ragged off it but to give it it's dues, Bog Standard 17y.o 320i with 110k and 60 profile goodyears it performed far better than it should.

Met some really friendly people and there were some very nice cars going round.
Radical, RS500 Cosworth, LOTS of 911's.. (Is there 0% on GT3's at the mo? hehe )

Sadly I think things are going to get expensive as I think I may have the 4-wheel bug now. smile

Agreed, was an adrenaline filled day at Snet with some amazing cars and very capable drivers that made me feel like the novice I am.

I was in the RS500 and think I held you up a few times mate lol.

Car ran really well all morning but develeped a miss fire at around 2 so had to turn the power down drastically. I brought everything but the spare plugs with me, d'oh!!!

Will upload some pics soon as my mate gets them to me.

PS The Porsche Team were amazing!

I was there too. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as I always do, despite it probably being my least favourite track that I have done so far. It was actually a little bit better than I expected and obviously not being there before, it was nice to give it a go.

The car struggled against some of the very powerful stuff on the long straights as I only have 180bhp, so it was not really ideally suited to my car (Green Westy) at all, but it did go well round the corners and they are the more fun part smile

Plus there were very few queues and red flags so well done to everyone who was there I guess as the day flowed very well.

Agreed on a great day.
Weather held off thankfully and only a few reds all day.
Spent the morning in a Race academy VX220, then shifted to my big fat Nissan 350Z for the afternoon....

I was chatting to one of you 'cossie' chaps at the end of the day. That RS500 looks very tidy indeed.
Nice to see some of the classics still giving it some on the track rather than just covering them up in cloth all year round.

Matt, there were some cars running very big HP and more importantly probably over £100k budgets so I wouldn't be too worried.

Your Westfield sounded ace passing the pit wall and seeing you on the track it only seemed to drop about 2mph for the bends. biggrin

Most of the Caterhams/Westfield type cars seemed to have fantastic cornering speed.

I have to say I was equally impressed with the 'tracked out' Clio's which showed a good turn of pace.
I should mention the red 850/S70 T5 which seemed to be running well and that Porsche 944 S(2) which left my mates Scooby in his dust. hehe
