i have seen a fantastic deal on these at the moment but my main problem is that they just aren't fast on paper now i haven't driven one yet but with the power and spec they have i feel it might be under powered so how easy are they to tune or should i forget it?

The 2.5WRX's have the same injectors as the STi's so with the standard turbo, replacement high flow flat panel air filter, Snorkus delete mod and replacement Stainless Steel turbo back exhaust and decat uppipe you should see up to 280bhp. For more bhp change the fuel pump and turbo and you should see 330+bhp. I wouldn't want to take it much further than that if you want a long lasting engine although 2006 onwards 5spd gearboxes are stronger than the old 2.0L 5spds.

It will be quicker in a straight line than a likewise modded STi because your car is lighter by about 100kilos and the 5spd box is nicely ratio'd, but it won't stop or handle anywhere near as well.

Is this Motorpoint, or Motorprovider, or elsewhere?

If you can get one for £13K that's a steal!! Also means you'll have some pennys left over to do some performance, brake and handling mods. Nice one!! thumbup

Nothing I know of, just had seen them myself and thought it was a good deal!

One thing I would check though is the spec- some car supermarkets (like motorpoint IIRC) import some cars so they're not quite UK spec, which may cause issues with the insurance. I think this is more euro cars rather than Japanese ones though.

they do seam a really good deal and it would make a great buy on a fast new car but still unsure its the car for me. i might book a testdrive at a local scooby garage to me and see how it drives.
