Roll Up Roll Up Petrol Filler Caps becoming available

S Series Petrol Filler Caps
Have been following a different approach over the last two/three weeks and the good news is within a couple of weeks or so a number of filler caps and bases will become available. I was approached by Neil from TVR Car Parts as he has in stock a number of original casting of the filler caps and bases.
I have found my local engineering shop can complete the machining and my local plating company can polish the resulting items and then copper plate, nickel plate and finally chrome plate.
The original sprung seal would have to transferred as would the two hinge pins, the latch and its spring. New latches are available if necessary but the originals seem to outlast the other items as they are brass.
I have had a sample filler cap polished.
And should have a completed sample to show week commencing 17th August.
The good news is there are about 100 caps available, and at least a similar number of latches but the not so good news is that there are only 16 bases, so I guess it will have to first come first served.
The cost for a cap is expected to be £55 plus VAT and carriage, and the base would be the same ie £110 plus VAT and carriage for both. Price for latch is not yet set.
I would suggest that if you are interested you would be best to place a pre order with Neil at TVR Car Parts but please register here as well so we can judge how many caps to process.
Not stainless teel but should be good for many years to come

Progress Report
Caps and bases machined and sent to polishers/platers today. I have checked the first off the line and its spot on.
Watch this space for further reports, expecting them back about week commencing 28th Sept, then they will need a final check prior to dispatch to TVR Car Parts.
