Donington hires new developers

Donington Park has confirmed that it has appointed Jayne McGivern's Red Grouse Properties to head up the upgrade of the circuit ahead of the 2010 British Grand Prix.

McGivern is a former chief executive of the UK arm of Multiplex, the company that built Wembley stadium, and circuit bosses are confident that she will ensure that the track redevelopment required to host Formula 1 will be completed on time.

"We have recently appointed Jayne McGivern's company Red Grouse Properties to lead the construction project for the 2010 Formula 1 Grand Prix," said a Donington Park statement.

"Jayne is a highly respected businesswoman who is credited with turning around the Wembley project and was heavily involved in the purchasing of the Millenium Dome from the government to convert it into the 02 Arena.

"Her appointment is a further signal of Donington Park's strong commitment to delivering a high quality, fan-friendly Formula 1 event for the next 17 years, for which we hold the contract.

"Jayne will ensure that all of the new work on site is completed in a timely manner and to the highest standards."

So Donington will be massivly over budget and be completed enormously late.

Now now got to be eco friendly about it, just think what will happen to all the fluffy polar bears and kittens if we all did something silly like drove to motor racing meeting!
my guess is, overbudget and late build, if more than a year over I cant see the contract being kept and it'll go back to where it should be if it does go ahead at Donnigton we'll all be well and truly ripped off every which way to recoup the massive costs, welcome to the £15-£20 burger & coke & the £20 park and ride folks
