Dimensions hehe

Just overall, ie a frame designed for 6' people. Just wondering what's around for 20" wheels, before I may have to look at 24" wheel cruisers...

does it have to be a bmx? ie are you racing it? otherwise something like a DMR trailstar with 24"ers may be most appropriate... i ordea bmx the other day and it felt very odd and i am only 5 11...

The 24inch DMR Rhythm is nice, I have an old 26inch SideKick at the mo at it's nice to ride.

Unless you want to do park or vert, then a 20inch is your best bet

I'm open to all suggestions.

However I did once try a 24" DMR (no idea on the model), but it felt like it was made of lead.

I prefer my bike to be very light, yet still rigid and strong of course.

Well I'm 5,10ish and ride a 21" top tube 20" BMX

This is about the only measurement you're going to see BMX's measured by.

There are a few longer frames 21.25, and 21.5 but with a long reach stem a 21" frame will be fine, the next question though is what sort of riding you'll be doing?
If it's flatland a 21" frame is going to be too big for anyone regardless of height, street/park/dirt you should be ok but obviously buy a frame designed for it, if your going racing then a few frames are even longer, look for thnkgs like PRO XXL in the name. wink

My mate was over 6' and had a S&M Holmes with a 21" top tube that felt huge. My wethepeople thrillseeker fits me (6'3") fine, and that has a 21" top tube too.

Macneil do a 22" toptube frame, the deuce deuce.
FBM will do you a custom frame with a 22" top tube.

I'm bang on 6' and ride a 20.75" sunday.

As a lot of people have said, it really depends what you're intending to ride (dirt, park, street, everything)

I'd suggest trying a Fit Lurch though, 21" toptube, longer chainstays than is the current norm and taller too. Should be easier to come by than the Macneil.

Great, lots of info there, thanks.

Bike will be used for cruising around the streets and a bit of fun in the woods, on some small jumps, general off road capers at the weekends. The sorts of place where I used to ride an MTB in fact. But no racing though. I just want a slightly more compact, light and simple bike.

The other thing I notice with some BMX frames is they can slope down very low towards the rear, where the seat tube comes out. I will want my seat at a sensible height, not with my arse sitting on the rear tyre and my knees around my ears! So I want a frame with a decent height at the base of the seat tube. Otherwise it will look daft with a huge long seat post hanging out of a short arse frame!

So any suggestions on that front are welcome too...
