How much discount from VW dealer on Used cars?

As above, what sort of discount is normally achievable on an Approved car?

£500? £1k?

I'd say you did very well to get that much off also; if the car is competitively priced then don't be surprised if the answer is 'nothing'.

It really depends on what price the car is at, how much margin they have, whether you have a part-ex, what price similar cars on the market are up for etc etc.

As a rough rule of thumb I would expect between £500 and £1000 off a £10,000 car, but the cost-to-change is the figure to watch out for if you have a part-ex.

I got about £500 off the sticker price and some mats, no part-ex. Wasn't easy either, probably could have gotten more off if I was a better negotiator and with more patience.
