Rear ARB (anti-roll bar) bracket - DIY diagram
Discussion
Some time back one of the rear ARB mounting brackets (the one that attaches to the chassis, not the one that goes over the bar) broke on my car.
This happened on a Friday evening and there is no dealer near me so I decided to give it a go and see if I could make one up myself.
I did and it's worked out fine and is in fact even stronger than the original one was.
It took about 2 hours in total to do it.
I took measurements of what I made at the time and lost them ..... until yesterday.
So if any of you have a broken ARB bracket all you need is a piece of 3mm plate, a saw, a welder, a bench vise and this diagram.
The same measurements will do for either side, you just have to bend the metal the correct direction.
Enjoy the DIY folks .....

A few more pics of the job .....
The broken one looked like this when I took it off the car

This is what the plate looks like when you cut it out

The work in progress with the piece bent-up and welded and 2 x M8 bolts welded in place to take the clamp that holds the ARB to the bracket

This is it painted up with Galvafroid and then a coat of white Hammerite and fitted on the car

It's significantly stronger than the original as I left extra metal beyond the mounting holes so it's a lot harder for it to tear again.
