ECU connector

Just a quick question. Whats the small connector coming out of the large plug at the back of the ECU? should it be connected to anything ?

If it has three pins it's for a diagnostic connection to the ECU.

No, it's not that the serial connectors on the board. Its not a "D" type connector, just a small two pin black thing on a small lead .
