Hi,
finally sold the cayenne, had to drop more than the price to get the sale in the end...

The dealer I sold to reckons The audi a3/a4 sat nav unit is identical(not even a token lambo logo) to the lambo sat nav that they want to charge 3,000GBP for...

Can anyone validate this?
If thats the case, i assume i can buy one off ebay and get local bob to fit it... nuts

I think it is the A6/A8 sat nav and yes its identical.

Most of the centre console buttons are audi buttons too.

Agreed, its pure Audi albeit they did change the startup logo, or at least they did in my 07G and current 560 Spyder. It even shows the Audi dealer locations on the map!

You may ned to trim down the edges to fit - a dremel works for this;

You can actually reprogram to display the Lamborghini logo uon start up wink.

Thats good to know - the problem is that the audi sat navs i have seen on the net have the word 'audi' on it. I would get psychologically abused my by friends if they saw that!
Any way around that?

It's been on here quite a bit. Yes, it's an Audi unit, typically in an A4 I believe. Regarding fitting one, read here:

very useful article and site come to think of it.

Could just buy a TomTom or fit the same Kenwood satnav that these guys do (same one that Lambo fit in the Murcie):

Yes, it's the Audi RNS-E DVD sat nav with a slightly narrower bezel as has been mentioned.

The startup logos are all in there, the unit needs configuring to display the Lambo Logo.

Lambo Birmingham put me onto some local guys who fitted the bluetooth kit to mine which integrates fully had the gear VAGCOM gear to do the config.

I agree with the OP, personally I'd rather keep it OEM rather than fit some aftermarket stuff.

Thanks - I spoke to these guys today and think I may go with the kenwood one - apparently miles better than an audi/lambo sat nav...

thanks, lord.

As crude as it sounds - a bit of wire wool removes this without much effort at all - and you would never notice it was there in the first place.

I'd disagree with that, I have the Kenwood thing in my SV and it is crap compared to the proper plumbed in unit in the Gallardo / LP560. Chiefly because it works like a dash mounted unit (because it is). So no wheel sensors etc to keep you going if the GPS signal is temporarily lost. This is a problem if you live in a country where there are lots of tunnels, for example.

The Kenwood's ipod/music/DVD interface is better than the Audi/Lambo one though
