Hi all,
The wedge I bough several months back finaly went on the road a few weeks ago.
Problem was it developed a bit of an oil leak. Turns out at least one head gasket was blowing, looks like three of the four pots were blowing into the valley and each pair were blowing across bores. I've not got the other head off yet.
Anyway it turns out I need a new camshaft as well.
I've been contacting the V8 specialists and getting different answers as to what works. One says a standard 3.9 EFI cam will be an upgrade where as another says it wont. I want to keep cost down but still want to keep at least the standard performance.
A OEM standard Vitesse cam is probably cheapest but I question the experts opinions as the cams they offer increase performance over a standard 155 bhp V8 not the 190 bhp Vitesse. They all seem to deal with Landrovers and Range rovers.
Doers anyone know the standard cam specs for the 350i and does anyone reccomend a cam from experience.
Thanks,
BBT.

http://www.realsteel.co.uk worth a look, some very keen pricing.

I have a realsteel 218/220 cam in my 400 hotwire, so different application.
I don't think it's giving its full potential though.

Definitely worth giving them a call for advice. smile

JE built the engine on my 390 so I went back to them when the cam wore.

They recommended the JE101 cam, this suits my engine but I don't know if it would suit yours, give them a bell.

Have an RPI RP-1 cam in mine.

From memory the JE101 is mild, might suit a supercharger idea

Thanks for the suggestions.
Only just got the other head off and the cam out today. Not oredered a cam yet but will in the next few days. I've included a couple of pictures of the cam, two of the lobes were really worn, infact one was non existant.
