Director John Hughes dies
Discussion
He apparently suffered a heart attack this morning while out for a walk, he was only 59, it's nuts.

I won't say its the loss of a genius but he was one of those directors every now and then got it just right. And once got it so right that it affected the rest of my life.
Bye John.

What a guy - what talent!
I'm sure its the same for many us - but its no understatement that he directed the films that made such a big impression on me during my earlier years.
Weird Science (1985) - you gave hope to the nerds!
RIP and many thanks.

Bugger. Although he seemed to lose the plot in later years (Curly Sue. WTF?), some of his 80s stuff was classic:
The Ferrari 250GT California flying over to the opening bars of Star Wars.
"I don't even own a piece of st, I have to envy yours."
"Bueller. Ferris Bueller..."
All of The Breakfast Club
"What would you little maniacs like to do first?"
"Bigger Tits."
"Dong? Where is my automobile?" "Automobiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllle?" "The donger need food!"
Most of Some Kind of Wonderful (mostly the bits with Lea Thompson in, although Mary Stuart Masterson would have got it if she hadn't looked so much like a bloke at the time...)
