Anyone know the combined wet weight of these? An accurate guesstimate would be sufficient.
To give you an idea of what I'm plotting, I'm considering canibalising an early E36 M3 to donate its heart and soul into my Mk2 Escort. Lots of design and fabricating will obviously be required, however compared to the traditional route of tuning 2 litre 4 pots, and using old sierra gearboxes, the E36 looks like a bargain on paper .... Wiring might take a couple of decades to complete
So then, heavier or lighter than a Pinto with a Sierra Gearbox?

Instinct would say to me that the E36 is going to be heavier. two extra pots for a start off. Gearboxes i would say are going to be pretty simlilar. IMHO
The weight of those two extra pots will be in the nose of the car also, so probably produce much more nose heavy car even if the weights are comparable.ETA; unless of course the bulkhead is to be radically mod'ed to create a front/mid layout.
