For anyone interested it'll peak on 11th of this month at a 'possible' rate of 200 per hour.
I went out wednesday night but didn't see any although it did cloud over (theres a suprise!) thursday night here in Lincoln was the same but this time some strange water droplets were falling from the sky, not sure what they are.

I fear someone in my neck of the woods is taking the piss over this...

Chinese lanterns flying over in strength...

My slightly excited neighbour phoned me last night to tell me the fifty-odd UFOs he'd spotted every night this week were coming over again...

hehe

No, and I'll tell you why. Because, and I fking guarantee it, it'll be cloudy as fk. Mark my words. every single fking year it's the same. Therefore I've given up all hope of seeing any.

Last time I saw a decent Perseid display was in 1989 - in Yugoslavia (as was).

Think they'll still be flying in on Thursday? We're going camping so hopefully it'll be clear and relitivly clear.

Took the Mrs and lad out at half 12 one night last year and sat in the middle of a field looking up watching Meteors. It was good until the mrs got the creeps and insisted we go home frown

Just come in after watching for about half an hour - saw about a dozen meteors all comingf from the same bit of sky so I guess they were Perseids.

Also saw a satellite heding South to North - guess it's in a polar orbit

Out here in the Bulgarian Boondocks the streetlights are turned off at 11pm, then its fall-over-your-own-feet dark, not one artificial light source for 20Km in any direction. Last night I watched the meteorites whilst floating on a Lilo in the pool in a balmy 22C breeze, a large single malt close at hand.
I quite like this astronomy lark.

I saw two. In an hour. Might go for a drive out tonight if it's clear enough
