New XJ and the ZF auto
Discussion
Could be money also or BMW was allowed to have it first 8 gear version...
The second generation 6HP28 (6 gear) Jaguar uses now should be able to handle 700nm according to ZF (the old 6HP26 600nm). But there is also a stronger version called the second generation 6HP34, which can handle 850nm.
So no excuse for Jaguar here, as there are stronger boxes from ZF on the market that can handle more power than the engine can give ;-)
Andre.

Thanks for that info. Therefore I think you'll see new g/boxes tweaks to all the models in the up coming refreshes.
So anyone in the know, hint at what Jaguar are working on now for new vehicle projects, the XE roadster? I heard that the XK may get binned from 2012. Hope not, I feel this is a market Jag need to be in, as well as the saloons.
