Or is it for CB use?
Plod: "Marshy's going down the road, send the RAF to flash him"

Incidentally did you edit the photo to obscure the numberplate or doesn't it photograph well for cameras with flashes

Marine sort of aerial? Is that a N type connector I can see, seems a bit large for a BNC. Coax under the hood?
Nice colour, get me train spotting book...

Er, umm, OK, answers...

N type, yes. Ruddy great bit of low loss MIL-spec coax, yes.

Ergo, it's not an FM or CB aerial. 2.4GHz ac-chully - it's my wireless LAN auditing tool. A very quick auditing tool

Went out to the Cambs TVR meet in it to test the mount I'd just bodged (er, lovingly fashioned) up for it. I wind tested it to within a few mph of the antenna's max wind rating.

Numberplate - yeah I scribbled it out. Wuss that I am

Marshy, without going too deep, why do you need a Wireless LAN auditing tool! (Be Technical, I'm studying HND Network Administration!)

Bluetooth territory that band as well, unregulated research band I seem to remember. Most businesses will soon need to have mil spec for their link encryption devices. If not for privacy then for corruption from crosstalk/noise from everyone else’s use of the band.
Happy snooping, you sure you don't work for G**Q as well!
