All day and then some but only needs doing once a year.

Clay gets al crap off the paintwork so as you can start polishing it.
Maguirs do a clay kit for about £20.

Well, as I was preparing for a car show, I spent pretty much 6 hours solid (including interior)

Claying doesn't take long, it's like getting a big block of blu-tac, squirting some water on the car, and dragging the blu-tax over it. You'll be amazed at what it takes off.

Polishing takes the longest, unless you have a machine, although you just end up doing more polishing instead.

Autoglym Super Resin Polish is good stuff by hand though, you can't go far wrong with all AG products IMO.

Is it worth buying the zaino show car kit or is that taking things a little too far? Before now turtlewax was about my limit!

I only use the grand finale spray from Zaino, so can't comment.

What items have you got?

I use Siemens for all my work this tookme two days, firstly a very good wash to ensure its all very clean then I use what they call a deep color wax or somesuch. The they have a clearcoat wax which is like water and you dont polish it on you just wipe it on once it dries very quikly and you wipe off it leaves a clear hard coat over the polish you have put on. Once that is all done corectly I just have a spray of a quike polish to go round it when it needs. The clear coat is so hood when it rains the rain turns ot big blobs and just falls off its really weird but you can wash the car with just a hose and wipe off in seconds. hard work for preperation but easy once its all done. The shine in the pic was after a sixty mile drive and a tour through town to the little show. Its a type of car you just cant leave dirty!!
