Opening RAW in photoshop.

Hi everyone, i have just been opening up some raw files from a canon 5d in photoshop here at work, everything is fine, but when i try to open the raw files from my 1000d it says cannot open this file as it is not compatible with photoshop. Whats going on?

You need to update Camera Raw.

Free download from Adobe IIRC.

Use Digital Photo Professional which is bundled with the camera,

Tools-> Transfer to Photoshop

Adobe cut the updates to ACR for older versions of photoshop tho.

A quick search reveals Adobe Camera Raw 4.6 and 5.2 (and Lightroom 2) support the 1000D, might be worth checking if you can update your ACR version
