went for a short run yesterday ,got back turned engine off,but would,nt start again ,i couldnt hear the fuel pump so i pulled the relay out checked it,
put it back then car started.could this be something else like a sensor or heat issue,i couldnt hear the creaking noise under the bonnet when turning the ignition on and off.

Long shot this as I'm a bit of a newbie I'm afraid but I've had a similar problem myself. Check my post here:

Hot starting is a common problem with petrol injected RV8s caused by the fuel getting very hot / boiling in the injector rail. You go out for a little blast, nice hot day, no problem as the fuel is moving round the system with hot fuel returning to the tank. You turn it off, hot engine heats fuel in fuel rail, fuel vaporizes, Wedge wont start! You go fecking around with all sorts of things as engine, fuel rail, fuel all cool down, you in the mean time have checked everything down to the tyre pressure, you turn the key and off she goes!!! Like magic!! now that don’t mean it was the tyre pressure or the fact you have changed the diff and track rod ends in your last ditch efforts to get it started, it just means you boiled the fuel in the fuel rail and now its cooled down. Wedges are wonderful things; just sometimes they need a little rest. You could try insulating the fuel rail and fuel lines in the engine bay which would help a bit, or just relax for 15 minutes, let the old girl get her breath back. Fecking around with all sorts of stuff could create a problem rather than solve one you haven’t really got. smokin

The only time it happened to me, it was caused by a brittle wire in the EF1.

- Another thing to look out for after years of high under-bonnet temperatures.

I always used to leave the bonnet up after a run out, to let the heat dissipate rather than slow cook the wiring.

Perhaps the solution would be to have a button labelled 'Prime' on the dash that runs the fuel pump to flush and refill the fuel rail... silly
