Hello! Just picked up my JCW...
Discussion
Just picked up my first MINI - a '58 plate JCW in red. Already enjoying it, and looking forward to getting it on a track before too long. Not really had the chance to push it, except in a straight line, but hope to get some time on the twistys later. I was looking for something to put the fun back into driving, having had an S2 elise a few years back, which I had for 5 years. Since then had an alfa 156 and a polo gti, neither of which really gave me the grin factor. I needed something with 4 'occasional' seats and a boot big enough to put a server in, and this seemed the logical conclusion. Test drove an R53 and R56 MCSs, prefered the feel of the R53, but liked the grunt of the turbo. The JCW seemed to combine the best of both, especially as mine has the sports suspension and recaro seats. Just glad that BMW finance were able to sort me out ;-) Obviously can't be left standard, so I'm thinking of a set of racing dynamics wheels and non-runflat tyres, strut brace, coilovers or at least lowering springs, but will probably have to start a bit smaller... Anyone know where I can get the Challenge side graphics from ;-)
Thanks!

Actually, this car has really surprised me - it is as much fun as the Elise. Would rather it was rear wheel drive, but apart from that, it is a great drive and lots of fun. And I can claim that it is sensible - as it has four seats and (with the rears folded down) carrying space. Love it! However, there is a nagging thought that I need a rwd car for the track (seven inspired or elise), and I almost wish I had got an R53 - prettier and the supercharger whine is great. The turbo when it spools up reminds me of why I bought the R56 though :-)

What is the difference between minitorque and 1320MINI?all other mini things totalmini
'1320MINI' is a garage/business that has proved itself to be very trustworthy, knowledgeable and reliable (I've happily used them several times); they're a preferred supplier on the site.
I also think i'm right in saying they currently have Europe's fastest Mini doing 11.1 second 1/4 miles.

I mailed 1320MINI earlier in the week, still waiting to hear back from them.
