The M6 toll road yet in thier TVR?
.....is it relatively quiet compared to the usual M6 car park?
and as i'm a bit dense and don't read every thread .....is it subject to same speeding 'laws of the land' as it is basically a 'private road' (or is it covered by a byelaw yet.)....not that i break the speed limit anyway

Yes, it is subjecto to the laws of the land. Speed limit is 70 max and you can be done for going over that limit.
There was a test done in today's Motorcycle News - they put 2 bikes at the same time of day (morning rush hour) through the normal M6 and through the toll road M6 - they restricted both to a top speed of 70mph.
The guy on the rode on the regular stretch arrived 2 minutes before the guy who rode on the toll road.
They put it down to the guy on the toll road have to fiddle around with gloves, pocket change etc to pay the toll, and also him not being able to exceed 70mph - which wasn't really an option on the normal stretch of road. However, the guy on the toll road arrived far more relaxed as there was virtually no traffic, while the guy on the normal stretch had to filter etc for a lot of the journey.

I rue the day when Govt takes over Trafficmaster and gets a SPECS system every mile for nothing - and printouts of where everyone has been. All in the interests of public safety of course.

The only time the toll road will make a difference to journey times North/South is when the existing road is congested.
Like its about to be for about a year whilst they do a load of (guess what) ROADWORKS...
Having said that. I travelled South along the length of the M6 toll at truly astronomic speed on Sunday afternoon. Saved two hours on my usual journey time - simply by avoiding congestion.
This OK for me, of course, as I shall use the road once in a blue moon and be thankful. Every poor bugger who will now need to use it on a daily basis is going to find it rather expensive.
e.g. Twice a day at £2 = £4
Five days a week = £20
Per month = £90 (ish)
Equals a grand a year to go back and forth to work. F****g thanks a bunch, Gordo and Tony! And, of course, I'm alright Jack...sorry everyone.

Seems like along way round to me there Don. 
Although I guess if you end up missing a queue it works though.
I did it the other week and found there was no queue on the M6 when normally there would be - so maybe it is working.
I have to admit thouygh that I would refuse to use it on principal for the number of journeys I do that way. If I was stuck on the M6 carpark 2-3 times a week I would probably think differently though.
