just had to post this one !
After losing our 12 y/o shepherd 2 weeks ago the house felt empty (no kids at home now). No clicking of feet on the laminate, no dog to rush home for, nobody to play with
Yesterday mrs Grouch rang the rescue centre we got Shelby from 12 years ago & asked if they had any GSD pups, the lady said they had just had a 15 month old in for rehoming due to being a bit too lively for a family with young children. Saw her, paid a donation & brought her home 6pm last night.
Not too well trained but we can do that, she's a really soppy loving dog & follows us everywhere, until she has a mad half hour & turns into a demon LOL
No dog could ever replace Shelby but this is closer than we ever hoped for.
pic of Sadie last night when we got home (had a bath this morning, that was fun !)

Lovely dog that mate. GSD is my favorite breed. I had two but had to rehome my GSD puppy earlier this year due to break up of my relationship. I work away and my parents couldn't cope with both. Kept my older dog as she is a lot less boisterous and she was a rescue dog as well. Glad it's worked out well.

Lovely dog! Our gsd is nearly 10 & he is a calm old gent. Unfortunately his legs are getting weak, quite common in gsd's, so walks are shorter these days. We will miss him badly when he goes
Sadie is the image of my GSD, Amber, that I rescued from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home 2 ½ years ago. My last 2 GSD have had to be put down due to their back legs going, most heart rendering thing to do, Amber being only 5 years old, is not over exercised, just her 3 regular walks a day.

Nicely done.. Looks like a devil in a fur coat (I have a good deal of experience in that area sadly)..
Lol, my Red collie above is the biggest devil ever. The smartest dog that I have ever known. My Grandma who has had dogs since she was a baby admits she has not known a dog like him. He used to put his brains to evil until I managed to channel them. Wouldn't be without him now, but when he was a puppy he was totaly f
king evil with a wicked temper.Sorry for not replying to everyone earlier, been a bit busy !!
she's certainly settled in well in the past 24 hours, been out with us to see friends twice (in the car - loves it), & seems to take well to everyone. More than a bit lively when she's "in the mood" but nothing that will worry us 9it is good to have a shepherd hanging off ones arm at 6am isn't it lol).
Seems to have taken a shine to our bed when she's tired, bit too convenient for her in a small bungalow

My two lads. Good on you for getting a rescue. I am thinking of rescuing my next dog which won't be for a while though.
