Just watching this on ITV2 I cant believe this is 16 years old, it still looks ace! Cant think of too many films that have aged this well. Makes me feel bloody old though, I went to see this on my 10th Birthday!!!
Bloody hell, me too. It's the only film i've ever watched at the cinema more than once.So many film plot holes. Like the massive cliff drop off into the T-Rex enclosure during the night scene that was previously flat as a pancake during the earlier day scene and the Velociraptors being about 10 times their actual size.
But is has Dinosaurs in it and any film that tweaks the nose of creationists is fine by me.

Luckily they've been dead a gazillion years so only geeks would know that/care. (almost as bad as anyone that thinks pointing out the Migs in Top Gun weren't Migs is making a useful addition!)Us dinosaur nerds knew that the Raptors were a tad too big (they weren't ten times too big - more like twice as large). It didn't spoil the viewing.
Just after the film was completed, paeleontoligists discovered a new species of Raptor which they named Utahraptor. Utahraptor is almost identical in size to the Raptors in the film.
The main problem with the Raptors in the film is that it is now thought that it was very likely that Velociraptors were actually feathered. But no one knew that in 1992/93.
However, as I said earlier, I would highly recommend that yuou read the book - which is a bit more subtle in plot compared to the film.

The book is excellent, I read it around the time the film was released.
I used to be a bit of a dinosaur nerd as a kid and, to be honest, the film makers used a bit of artistic license but I dont care. I've never seen a dinosaur before, there might have been bigger Raptors than we've found so far, I certainly didn't lose any sleep over it!
What do we think of the other two films? I quite enjoyed JP2. It wasn't a patch on the original but it was enjoyable none the less.
JP3 was poo. poo story. poo cop-out ending. plus, everyone knows T-Rex is the best regardless of what may gave been discovered since. It's the biggest scariest one that we all loved as a kid and killing it off with that rubbish spinowhatsit was a mistake.
JP4? I dont think it will happen which is probably a good thing. In this day and age the dinosaurs would probably have fallen into the hands of the terrorists and would be set loose to eat everyone who isnt a terrorist. and they'd probably have gun-hats on too.
OR
They'd be dying out again because nobody drives Priuses and the Eco-mentalists would shoe-horn in some nonsence about saving the world if we give up modern excesses and return to the stone age and then it would basiclly become the flintstones and the dinosaurs would become lawn mowers and showers and............actually that sounds fantastic!!!
Off to write JP4:return of the Flintstones (or something like that!)
