I went to eastbourne today and stopped in the Ashdown forest to get a few snaps, they didn't come out the way i wanted them to but i had a play on lightroom and thought that they look alright.

what do you think? do they look too over edited?

this one is just a shot of the pier, not much edited with this one.

4 is lovely.

3 is nice too, although obviously 'shopped to show false-colur.

1 is a bit of a dog's breakfast, sorry (at least on this PC...).

cheers martin.

the first one was a bit of an accident to be honest, i was practicing with two different gradients and as you can see it didn't quite work out well. i chucked it in anyway as it was a bit different to your usual landscape.

Had a bit more of a play to make it look a bit more natural.

what do you think?

Natural for Chernobyl possibly! Until we see the original we can't really comments on the tweaking.

Actually I quite liked it, but it didn't look natural - more like a cover from a premium margarine brand smile

That said, they're all better than the original - it just shows what you can drag out of an image!

Sorry, by more natuaral, i mean't in comparison to the first edit which was a bit gradient crazy. i am learning more about lightroom and to me the last edit looks a bit HDRish.

thanks for the comments though

No problem - but I think what you need to do is try to get a better image in camera to start with, rather than try to beat life into a dead thing. Photography first, jiggery-pokery second!

That would be an idea. like i said, i was not happy with what i intended of the photo and what actually come out but that is something i have to work on. This was more an exercise with lightroom and actually using more than just presets to PP my shots.
