With Quaife making it you have to ask how much of the internals are common to the ZFQ, but an $8200 price tag is not to be sniffed at and Quaife certainly has the reputation to back up quality.

Fifth gear seems ridiculously tall, unless it is just intended as a cruising gear, 45mph / 1000rpm. So with my 6300 rev limit I would have to reach 284mph before I hit the limiter.

I like the gearing for 1-4, and maybe 5 makes sense for long motorway journeys, but you won't be setting any vmax records.

mph/1000rpm
gearbox 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
GTM FF 8.5 12.7 17.3 22.5 45.1
G50/03 6.4 10.9 15.9 20.6 25.8

I agree..... I have a 2001 Corvette and the 45mp/1000 rpm is fine for a 6th gear Perfect for motorways but a 5th ??? you need 5 normal gears to get the best from the engine... Top speed will always be in 5th, 6th its to much for it... I guess its a typo should be more like 0.76 5th I think...

Any ideas on the weight compared to other boxes?

Hi Guys

The ZFQ is a high powered reality, and just thrashed all the original (7)GT40's including the Holman Moody 7 litre GT40 Mk11 at Road America, Dennis Olthoff's Superformance GT40 was putting down 540 rear wheel horspower, topping over 190mph on track equiped with its ZFQ Superfinished transaxle.

The Factory five unit does not exist and is not in production and has not been ordered, the quoted price should be £ not $ compare prices in the Quaife Catalogue?

The ZFQ now has the 3.5 differential esspecially for the LS powered Ultima.

Diff Ratio 3.5
1st Gear Ratio 2.533
2nd Gear Ratio 1.619
3rd Gear Ratio 1.2
4th Gear Ratio 0.929
5th Gear Ratio 0.742

regards

Chris Melia.
