Was anyone on here at Cadwell last Saturday ?

It was the first time I had been there and it took a while to learn the circuit but its a very rewarding track to drive.

There were a few more incidents and red flags than I have seen previously but that didnt stop it from being a great day.

I have got a few photos which i'll get on here later.

I was there, in my little 309 Goodwood - the only trackday car with a towbar?

I was one of the two drivers of the little yellow Radical.

Were you the quick one or the quicker one?

Towbars are the way forward for trackday tuning!

I was the younger and hopefully quicker one smile

I would definately head back to Cadwell. I think it would take a while to get bored there.

Hey james pleased you enjoy cadwell.

This is not me wanting to cause agro or whine, but we where in the blue clio, we followed the yellow radical for 4/5 laps before (who ever was driving let us past). Who ever was driving was very slow through the corners holding us up. then would plant it in a straight line. We flashed the driver several times in front of marshall post to try to get a blue flag. We also dropped back to find some space but soon caught (whoever) was driving up again.

So please next time let people through earlier.

I did notice the radical was alot quicker later in the day.

Hi Jonathan, yes i'm the same guy...still got the CSL and it still running very well. Its up to 37K miles now !

Adrian, I apologise if anyone was holding you up, you were pretty quick. I didn't have too much trouble passing you later in the day when I was driving wink

There isn't really an excuse , but in defence the Radical is pretty difficult to see what's following you, obviously having no central mirror and the mirrors on the wings are tiny. Did the marshalls use the blue flag at all ?

Anyway, hope it didn't cause you too much of a problem, I know its frustrating as I have that problem in the car a fair bit. Hope to see you on another track day soon...

Cheers,
James

Not a problem. I can understand that its probably hard to see anything behind you.

Yeh we passed The radical easily in the morning sessions but later in the afternoon you came passed us easy biggrin

Really enjoy the day, thats the best our car has felt all year, it was sliding all over which was great. Shame i hit some of those plastic bollards :< and our brakes were on the way out after 3.30. but was all good fun

Can not wait till our next cadwell day, love the circuit.

It was my first time out there, and I was very impressed with the circuit, almost like two circuits in one. One narrow, quite slow and twisty and another wide open quick corners. I'll definately be back.

I was out taking photos for some of the morning so i'll have a look through and see if I got any of your clio.

Do you have any pics of the 2 / Porsche 968 Club Sports..?? Blue + White ones...???
Anybody know who was driving the Ariel atom that took an interest in the armco barriers.??? Whoever it was , was driving like a *******....He held me up for about 3 laps.. madmadmad
It doesnt take much to keep an eye on the mirrors...
+ it certainly doesnt hurt to pull over + BACK off the throttle when there is somebody right up your chuff for 3-4 laps....
Whoever was in the Yellow Radical in the AM ,, There was a LOT of radio chatter about you. Holding people up.. I was in the hut signing a camera form, + the officials werent very happy with you,, at all...

James,

Good work, glad she went to a good home and is being cared for! Still fairly low miles for a 6 year old car. I had a couple of track days down at Cadwell in the CSL ... certainly wouldnt want anything larger or heavier than that around there.

The time to raise these issues is ON THE DAY with the ORGANISER. (As he said in the briefing, to those who were listening...)

Not really much value moaning about it on a forum four days later, is there?

HTH wink

Im not moaning about it at all.
There wasnt realy any point in mentioning the atom to the organisers,, as he hit the armco right in front of me + was definately OUT for the forseeable future due to deranged front suspension....rolleyes
And the Radical didnt hold me up.. Just mentioning i herd it on the circuit radio,s...+ the official i was dealing with wasnt best pleased about the driver....
Anyway. The drivers that dont back off / let you past,,,obviously DONT listen to the morning briefings either....It happens at every track day ive done...Theres always one car that gets in the way + tries to be a driving god....rolleyesrolleyeslaughlaugh
All in all it was a REALY good day..

Hi James, I was there in the black GT3 if you managed to get any shots of me.....

All in all an excellent day with good driving standards displayed by the majority, as for the yellow Rad.....

I went on the circuit at 4.30pm for my last outing and it took the chequered flag to get me off!!!! It was me, the GT3 and the track, nobody else on, as you had all gone home biggrin (other than a couple of stragglers). Absolute motoring bliss, nobody to spoil my lines or having to think about when approaching a corner....sublime cloud9 It really was worth the £190 for that last 30 minutes.....

I will be back to Cadwell, a truly fantastic circuit!!!!
