Well finally finished getting the new lump, gearbox, dry sump in the car, fresh paint and all of the latest upgrades done and made it to Wilton House event. Had an amazing day, great to meet up with various other people and see such a wide and varied selection of cars on display (can't believe some people are moaning on the events thread, they need a good kicking!!! anyway..)

I must at this point add some HUGE thanks to Mark (theneed4speed) for letting me mess up his workshop with my car for the last 4 weeks and the hundred or so hours he's put in to paint the unique colour the car now is (it's a very vivid green with a slight flip in the lacquer, doesn't show on photo's well but in the sun is truly stunning!). CHEERS MARK!

So here are some pictures of the nearly finished project.

It looked great and I might say a much nicer green than that Lambo parked next to you.

Somebody I spoke to at Wilton desperately wants to know what the colour is as it is just what he is after. He failed to find you all day so will PM you at some time.

Sadly it's a colour we made as couldn't find a green off the shelf that was as strong and bright as we were after.... so no easy way for him to replicate it... unless he has access to a commercial paint mixer system.

Assuming you have gone for something clsoe to Kawasaki Green, you could also have tried these. These are all ISO safety paints.

Had the green on my car for 4 years with no UV issues. Its retina burning bright.

There are some pics of the car before it met with "death by Kentish lane" at the bottom of this page. www.the-webbs.com/k2rum/k2history.htm

You can buy the stuff here. The green has really poor coverage - 5 coats to get the depth I wanted so if you are going to paint a GTR be perpared to buy quite a few litres. Took about 3.5 litres to do half of the Caterham!

Had two plod look round the car so far... all they wanted to know was what was it... neither said a word about my number plate placement... but a nice legal one is behind the seat for the day I meet an unhappy one

JSS, just drop in and say hi and I'm sure we can sort a run out

Well it's taken a long time to finish to the standard and spec I wanted, but I am overseas working for 6-7 months again from the end of September and have a far to big collection anyway. Thought was to put it up for an amount that means I don't take too much of a bath (expensive to build these when you get going aren't they!) and if it doesn't sell just find somewhere to store it over the winter, testing the water as such.

Who knows... can always build another one next year!
