Thanks very much for the link, but not sure that's the one I was thinking of (tho does have some crackers, thanks!)
I'm sure it was titled "Your favourite chilli recipe" and I've no idea why but I think KingRichard started it. Does anyone remember that thread, or have I totally made it up in my head?!

Nope was definitely about chilli, although very similar title.
This is really frustrating me now (as I want to make a nice chilli tonight
) - but I can picture it, I really can. I even went through both KingRichard's and KingHerald's whole posting history looking for it.
Either that, or I'm going crazy!

Thanks very much - still useful, even though I did make a cracker on Monday night.
I'm making a chilli tonight! Alsways interesting to pick up new ideas as its a very variable dish. I like to use finely cubed steak along with minced steak as well as finely cubed bacon for a variety of textures, and always cook the meat in red wine before adding anything else (other than the spices). Dark chocolate is very good in it for smell, taste and colour I find. The other thing that I'm experimenting with (and getting some superb results IMO) is a smokey malt whisky along with smoked chipotle chillis - Yum!
Like the idea of a variety of types of bean/peas etc - maybe i'll see whats's around in the kitchen
