Hello,

I Don't suppose anyone here, or anyone knows of somebody who is handy at a bit of fabrication?

I need two small brackets made up to enable me to fit a set of Skyline R32 4 pot calipers onto my Starlet.

Also, I would probably need a set of custom brake lines made up, again, does anyone know of any companies who can supply such a thing (At a reasonable cost).

Thanks
Jamie

Where you based? Gerry at Performancetek should be able to make up custom braided lines for you. Believe he's HEL's main distributor.

He'll probably know someone to fab the brackets for you as well.

Brake lines are a DIY items - you can get the Goodridge hose and end fittings from Demon Tweeks (amoungst others). Cut hose; slide 'nut' from fitting up hose; flare out braided outer covering; press on 'olive' over inner hose but inside now-flared braiding; press end fitting into 'olive' and up the inner hose; screw down nut; job's a good-un. No doubt there are better instructions on the net, but that's the gist of it.

Can't help with machine work though. Don't quite know what you're after but most of the caliper adapters I've seen are essentially a block of metal with holes matching the original mounts on the caliper, and new tapped holes matching the new calipers. Not somthing you can do with a lump of metal the right thickness, a hacksaw, a drill, a tap and a file?

There are plenty of places that will make up mounting brackets if you can draw up what you need. You need to know the material thickness (i.e. the offset required), relative position of the holes to mount on the hub and calliper, an outline shape that clears everything, and the diameter of the holes (and threads required if applicable). Depending on the thickness strength might be an issue, if you don't know enough to assess that then get it designed by somebody who dies. Any decent engineering shop will do it, or most of the aftermarket brake suppliers. Some of them even supply half-made brackets that fit the callipers, you drill and cut to fit your uprights.
