Hiccups - cure needed NOW
Discussion
Seriously though, if you've got someone who can help you, get them to close your ears for you (not put their fingers IN them, ewww, just close the little flap in the middle.
Then you drink slowly and steadily from a glass of water.
Your ear canals are linked to your sinuses and so on, so you need to close off everything, to keep the pressure in your chest enough to keep the diaphragm forced down (that's what hiccups are, the diaphragm spasming).
This might all be b
ks, mind, I just know it works

Drink from a glass of water, but don't just gulp it down - try and time it so you swallow the water at just the point you are about to hiccup.
Or a second method (always works for me but can take a bit to get the knack of doing it):
Hold your breath, and try and tense up your stomach muscles while pulling in your rib cage - think of it as trying to push your lungs down against your diaphragm.
Basically, as has been said, hiccups are spasms in your diphragm. All those two things do is try and stop them, the first one with a jolt, the second by a pressure/tensing.
Hope you get rid of them somehow!
