4.3 engine - what about the rest?

Questions for those with big engine/performance upgrades:

- What have you done to the rest of the car - suspension, brakes, clutch?
- What did your insurers say?

Just planning ahead...

I had already fitted Gaz Golds, to Dom's credit, before they started work, they did ask if the suspension was standard!
clutch is standard, and i am insured with Haggerty's, no problems with the mods,,,,,, but, i am getting on a bit now
For a road engine, its superb soooooo much torque.

This is what I have done.
3.9 diff,Ohlins,SP12's but I think you have them already and Avon ZV3's.
Next on the list brakes upgrade.
The result is a much quicker,smoother and more planted drive.
Brakes are not essential but seems like a good idea after the 4.3 upgrade.

Standard suspension - More than capable on road and track.

Standard brakes - but better pads and fluid help anyway, DS2500 & SRF

Standard AP Clutch

Lightened flywheel from Raceproved only because the other one was worn and crap starter ring gear

Plasma Ceramic coating of exhaust & De-cats help extra heat dissapation

Mannings- advised that if within +10% increase in performance or cc no change in cost, but must be advised of changes.

Get an agreed valuation on vehicle with every change declared +£60 on premium for me based on 450BHP & £50k value

Thanks for the replies chaps.

That engine upgrade looks a real bargain at the moment, especially since you can sell your old engine. (I'm sure there are plenty of early Tuscaneers who may be looking for a price-sensitive fix to their chocolate fingers). Just need a TVR now - which is happening in September

Standard. Did it when it was a 3.6 to trade acce;eration for top end speed as I am not likely to use VMax in the UK am I officer? Having said that I have been thinking about the gearbox since the 4.3 went in.
There is a nice six speed option I remember reading about on here somewhere that got me thinking....the upgrade list is just getting longer!

Yes it's the rebuild cost at the moment but still excellent value for money.Not trying to sell for Dom at all but credit where it's due with the performance hike you get and the reassurance of a 5 year unlimited millage warranty I have no regrets at all.
