What's the feelings about it?

Useful? Or not that useful? Or about right?

Too quick to cry wolf, or too slow to say there's a problem?

Too wrapped up in diplomatic niceties when really somebody should stick their neck out and say, watch it!

Take the current advice to India for example. Clearly an increased risk in all areas, some areas are a definite no go I would say.

However there is clearly an increase in tension against British travellers.

So, as above, about right, or??

Needs taken with a dose of common sense. Quite often just gives generic warnings.
I'm meeting up with someone tonight that has just spent 5 weeks in India up in the NE. Want me to report back?

Yes, would be handy to have a recent user perspective of it, thanks.

Far too safety-conscious if you ask me. When I was living in West Africa, driving around by myself every night, pissed off my tits it said "Do not visit this area. You will be robbed, kidnapped and machetéd to death." That never even nearly happened.
