I have been reading how on a 993 you can drill holes in the airbox & on a boxster you can remove the snorkel to get a better sound.......anyone know what can be done like this on a 996 - ie cheap & easy to make the engine sound more meaty ?

If you drain all of the coolant out of your 996 you will get a much more metallic sound from the engine, nearly as good as a 993....
Not sure about drilling airbox on 996 as the fuel system and maf sensor are more sophisticated than on the older porkers..You can buy some of these ram tube things, but i would fit a sports exhaust myself either fabspeed or Porsche own sports exhaust.best leave intake side alone.

HHmmm you're probably right Dom.....I should have made the point that it will make a great sound for a short while and then never make another sound again..

Be careful across the pond guys and have a happy holiday season
