In order to get the wipers working normal again during interval function and parking, we replaced the wiper switch today. Didn't help. Cheched the fuse, was OK, what are the other options for solving this? Wiper motor replacement?

Are you sure it's not the wiper control box giving you a headache?

The only niggling issue on this car that seems to have affected each of its owners is the park switch, is this what you are referring to as wiper switch? I got fed up with it after twice replacing the park switch and once replacing the motor. In the end I just used to coat the windscreen with Rain-X and never needed the wipers again.

Hi Jules, I meant the park switch indeed. I replaced it and it didn't help. When we did this we noticed that there was a switch connected to the power source of the wipers. Do you happen to know what this switch is for and why it is connected to the wipers? Could this be the problem?

I don't know exactly. my technician did it for me, but it looked like loosen the connectors on the reservoir, push it aside, take out the old switch, put in the new switch. it looks like this:

Hi,

I reckon that wiring may be some old wiring that was connected up to a seperate switch that I temporarily used to activate the wipers (bypass switch), they were either ON or OFF. Can't remember why this was done, but i am sure I removed the switch and when Mars bought the car he replaced the park switch.......thinking about it I am sure that Onzlouk also change the park switch whilst he had it.....

Sorry that doesn't help, but it might be worth removing the old wiring and then refitting the new switch and see if this works.

Jules.

Like I said in my previous post I think the additional switch you are referring to may have been one that Joolz (tRACKCAR) fitted as a short term fix for me, I can remember removing the on/off switch that was wired through to the front of the car but I never removed all of the wiring or the "additional" switch if there was one. Maybe this needs to be removed first? I am sorry if I am confusing the issue.

Hi... wavey can I join in too? I replaced it once, which seemed to do the trick for a short while but then it stopped working again. Thing is, the fuse board was loose, and I was always wedging it into the hole with rags and after it failed again wondered whether it was related to the fuseboard.

Well, together we changed at least 5 ...correction 6!!! switches and a motor on the same car. Maybe the rewiring option from jules isn't such a bad idea. I'll keep you posted.rolleyes
