ok I am trying to transfer my pictures by USB directly from the camera (canon 350D) to my laptop.

I know I need a USB card reader but I havent got one at the moment.

Any way when I try o transfer them it says "transferring cancelled, media not recognised"

Any one able to shed some light here as I am pulling my hair out!

And please answer in lamens terms as Im not used to ths SLR malarky.

Cheers guys.

If you haven't got a card reader i presume you're usbing from the camera?

It should register as a mass storage device, so try and browse to the camera from "my computer" and see if you can copy them across manually.
