Pre workout it could be taken with glucose to help fuel you.
Other times I wouldnt, glucose (dextrose) is normally taken pre or post workout for a quick release of carbs.
I took creatine for a while and to be honest didnt notice any real benefit, but lots of people do swear by it.

Agree with that mate, i started taking it before it was popular and all i noticed is i used to wee a lot, although advances in it might have made it a lotbetter nowasdays - for me a couple of bananas around half an hour beforehand really make a difference.Edited by Matt_N on Tuesday 11th August 08:29

Been covered in detail before. Creatine works, medical fact. However, everyone has different levels of creatine and there is a max the human body can store. So if you feel it doesn't work you may already be at your bodies MAX. I think, on average, you can increase your creatine levels by approx. 25%. May be more for you, maybe zero.

Creatine is a popular nutritional supplement with athletes, and has a cellular effect of increasing water retention. This effect decreases the amount of free water available to the athlete and may result in cramping and dehydration. In-season use of creatine is not recommended.
