Antalya - Turkey

Have been recommended by one friend to go to Antalya in Turkey, has anyone else been and what are your thoughts on the region?

Also where best to book last miute deals - looking to go on the 22nd of August

on the beach.com is a good website. as is teletextholidays.

i went to marmaris in turkey last year with on the beach, and have to say that i had a brilliant time out there. make sure you get all inclusive tho.

We were there in May 08 and enjoyed it. depends what you want tho - AI is not for us and we stayed in the Old town at the Tuvana and ate locally each evening which was great, rather than using the 'beach areas' outside of town. do go to the museum - air con which you'll apprecaite in august, and an amazing collection of Greaco roman sarcophagi which even if they are not your thing are amazing to see. and take a trip to Aspendos too - theatre in excellent condition still used

Why do people bother with AI in Turkey when everything is so cheap and the food is brilliant if you venture off the tourist traps...
