Is there a market out there for a 1993 L-reg Chimaera 430 in vgc with 44k on the clock, Taxed until 06/04, but no MoT as I can't get down to the MoT Centre because there suddenly isn't any pressure behind the clutch pedal. To be honest I have had it with TVR's now and need a more sensible car. It's easily worth £12.5k but will accept £10.5k just to be rid of it. Am I being defeatist or should I give her another chance?

Not in the market myself but, a 4.3 at that sort of money is a steal for somebody , assuming it is just a lapsed MOT. Shame to see someone dispondant with their Tiv myself do you have a catelogue of problems you'd like to get off your chest.

Of course she's not perfect as she's 10 years old now. But it has been well maintained but naturally it's had its niggling faults (although no more than my 2 previous S Series. I just thought at that price it's honest for the car as it hasn't been out since September and so any faults that may crop up because of the lay-up period would be covered because of the price (ie not sure yet whether a whole clutch is required or just the Master or Slave cylinders gone).

The loss of pressure will not be the clutch itself. Is the car leaking fluid or is there any dampness near the clutch pedal? If the clutch wasn't slipping before the loss of pressure it could be simply a case of replacing the seals on the master/slave cylinder. If you're in the RAC, get it towed to your nearest specialist, get it fixed and MOT'd then get sensible money for it (if you really must sell).
