Putting it in the lounge for maximum exposure before it gets hidden...

Planning a route from Reading to MK tomorrow - one of the options is cross country via Aylesbury and LB. Some maps show a bypass for LB, some show it in planning.

Anyone know?

The bypass is a lovely stretch of road, never busy but does occasionally have a camera in a van waiting to pounce, so keep your wits about you wink

There is a gated road from one of the villages just outside Wing to Fenny Stratford (I think) which is a great road if you are going to MK. Lots of dips and a big railway bridge.

Do you do this journey often? What's the favoured non-motorway route from Reading?

I do go to Aylesbury a lot because we have family there and there are a couple of ways. Depends what side of Reading you are.

Im on the Oxford side so I go out on the A4074 and ether cut through Benson to Watlington and then Chinnor, Thame and onto Aylesbury. This is quite a good route.

You can also take the A418 from the A4074 to Thame. This road is excellent with some very good bends but has three 30mph villages to go through. Most of the road is 50mph but doesnt have any cameras.

From Aylesbury I would then go to Leighton Buzzard and ether use the bypass or that gated road to get to MK. Bypass is quicker.

Failing that take the A404M to Wycombe and get to Aylesbury that way. There is a back road from Wycombe through the Hughenden Valley and past chequers. An awesome road if it is empty, narrow in parts though.
