Could someone tell me what code 131 is for on a FPN and what will it translate to when it gets onto the license?

Thanks.

The form had Code 131 then "Excess Speed (40MPH)" - but I thought a SP30 was the code for that (but there is only 3 boxes on the form).

I'm intruiged if the Met are using some sort of "secret code" or if it's something more serious when it get's processed.....

It was late last night when i replied.
The code 131 is the FPN code that we put on an Endorsable ticket for the offence of Excess Speed.

If you pay the fine and comply with the ticket then you will get 3 points and thats the end of the matter.

You can still, however, contest it by returning the rear section 3 (on back of ticket) to the address shown to get a Court appearance.

Hope that this now answers your question

Edited to say that Police use codes 130 to 135 for Excess Speeds and the Courts use the SP Codes which are shown on your Driving Licence when its Endorsed.

Some more planks up North Tony.

Morning perambulation called in at local Plod Station --- open believe it or not--- and asked what code 131 was.

Reply N2131 - Rear Number plate not illuminated.

Second surprise - smallest PW I have ever seen - all of 4ft 11". Must be Shield carrier no 1 in a PSU?
