I have an idea to raise money for charity
Discussion
I thought I would run the idea past fellow PH'ers. I don't really do charity work, I give a little now and then on the spur of the moment but my company does work for a few charities.
So, I had an idea of doing something silly that we would enjoy, but also try and sponsor the whole thing. Now it is slightly self indulgent but here is the idea:
Myself and a colleague were proposing to ride monkey bikes, wearing monkey suits with the possibility of playing the monkey's from monkey themed child tape deck. We would ride from Lands End to John o'Groats stopping in major cities and talking to local media and really raising the profile of a cancer charity.
Due to the silliness I thought it may get the right attention, but does a charity want the association!??!

Just like that
Joking apart, the only issue might be one of Elfs and Safety should one of you fall off - negative press for the charity and all that. As someone above says, perhaps check with them first.
Why not do a different route, i.e. into Europe - it'l probably be more fun too. Having driven regularly from JoG to England I can tell you it's not a fun journey. It would be painful on a monkey bike, and the A9 would be scary.
